How Do Spammers Get My Number?

While we can all agree on the fact that spam callers need to be stopped (which is one of the many reasons why we’re here at CallApp), have you ever wondered how spammers get your number in the first place?

In fact, there are unfortunately endless ways that they access your number.
Sometimes, they reach you by dialing random numbers, calling every single number possible with a specific area code, and eventually are likely to reach you, or another potential victim of their horrific scam.

Scam callers often dial random numbers until they reach a victim

In other cases, spam calls aren’t so random. Some mass marketing firms sell data, such as phone numbers, email addresses, and sometimes even home addresses to make large purchases and bill them to your home.
Spam callers often have accessed large telephone databases, and misuse the information to their advantage.

Many of us have unfortunately received calls with telemarketers telling us we could win tons of money by simply providing a few pieces of personal information.
This is one of the biggest scams that should be avoided at all costs.

Innocent and hard working people worldwide lose their money due to scam calls far too often – and that’s exactly why we’ve made it our mission at CallApp to have every call identified.
Not only do we tell you who is calling, but if they are a spam caller and even allow you to block those numbers to prevent them from coming in at all.

And if they aren’t a spam caller but you just don’t want to hear from them? Well then feel free to block them too.
That’s the magic of CallApp, protecting our users, one number at a time!
